Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths today apprehended a probationary sub-inspector of police (PSI) and an assistant sub-inspector of Papadahandi police station in Nabarangpur district for accepting bribe.
PSI Raghunath Hansda and ASI Siba Prasad Daleiaccepted a bribe of Rs.4,000 in the police station from a person to release his seized motorcycle. As per the instruction of ASI Dalei, Hansda accepted the bribe money from the complainant. The vigilance team nabbed both of them and the entire bribe money has been recovered and seized from their possession.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Hansda, and two locations of ASI Dalei respectively from DA angle.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance registered a case U/s 7 P.C (Amendment) Act, 2018. The investigation is in progress against accused officials.
