Bhubaneswar: A Plus III student went missing after jumping into Birupa river in Cuttack district, on Monday.
The student, identified as Pradip Kumar Das, left his cycle and mobile phone on the bridge before taking the plunge.
Locals witnessed the incident and immediately informed the student’s family and the fire department. Fire brigade personnel and family members have rushed to the spot, and a search operation is currently underway to locate the missing student.
The reasons behind the student’s drastic action remain unclear. Although sources suggest that the student had left home in anger before the incident, the actual cause is still unknown.
Police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
