Mohana: A youth was killed after his bike and a pickup van collided head-on at Sukhila Amba under Mohana police limits in Odisha’s Gajapati district on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Sujit Nayak, son of Sanatan Nayak of Adaba village under Adaba police limits.

According to reports, Sujit was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him ‘brought dead’.

Soon, tension prevailed in the area as locals staged a road blockade demanding adequate compensation for the deceased’s family. Vehicular movement was disrupted on the Mohan-Rayagad main road for a while.

On being informed, police reached the spot and appeased the angry mob to withdraw from the agitation and clear the road for traffic movement.
