Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of 147 km of roads in the tribal areas of Odisha under the PM Janman Yojana on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on Wednesday.
The project is a part of plan will Rs 83,300 crore project titled Dharti Aba Janjatiya Village Excellence Campaign aimed at the development of 5 crore tribals of 63,000 villages in 549 districts and 2,740 blocks across the country. It will bring a new dawn in the tribal areas, including promoting healthcare and social services and ensuring a better lifestyle. Altogether 25 ministries of the Union government will work in tandem to make the project a success.
In Odisha, roads will be constructed for transit facilities in various tribal areas of Deogarh, Gajapati, Mohana, Rayagada, Baliguda, Malkangari, Gunupur, and Sundargarh. Along with this, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of several good people-oriented works in the tribal areas.
The Prime Minister will launch the Dharti Aba Janjatiya Village Excellence Campaign at a function in Hazaribag in Jharkhand on Wednesday.
