Deogarh: In a dastardly act, a youth allegedly molested his mother in Utal village under Barkot police limits in Odisha’s Deogarh district on Thursday evening.
The Barkot police have registered a cases based on the victim’s complaint and started an investigation into the allegations. The police have also detained the accused Bishnu Munda in connection with the crime and are interrogating him.
According to reports, Bishnu Munda was married four years ago but left his wife after a quarrel and has been living at his parental house in Utal village. As his father is currently lodged in jail, he was living with his mother.
Finding his mother alone at home recently, Vishnu overpowered her and tried to rape her. He also thrashed his mother brutally for refusing his advances. While his mother was sleeping at home last evening, Vishnu tried to molest her brandishing a knife.
Soon after the incident, the victim left the house due to shame and went to live with a relative in the neighbouring village of Mara.
