Bhubaneswar: A high-level inter-departmental coordination meeting was held on Friday between Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari and Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, and Drinking Water Minister Rabinarayan Naik. The meeting focused on expediting the process of providing land to landless beneficiaries for constructing houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
As per an official press release, Block Development Officers (BDOs) will compile a list of landless beneficiaries eligible for land allotment under PMAY and submit it to the respective Tehsildar. The Tehsildars, in coordination with Revenue Inspectors, will identify suitable land and make the necessary arrangements to allocate it to the beneficiaries.
To streamline the process, regular coordination meetings between Tehsildars and Revenue Inspectors will be held on the first Saturday of every month. These meetings will focus on ensuring timely implementation, with close monitoring by the District Collectors.
No PMAY beneficiary will be deprived of the opportunity to build a house due to lack of land. Additionally, District Collectors will submit monthly progress reports to the government to track the progress of the scheme.
