Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today said that the country is celebrating PM Kisan Day, marking the release of 18th installment of the financial assistance.
The central government’s PM Kisan scheme provides Rs. 6,000 annually in three installments to accelerate farmers’ development and poverty reduction. Today, 31,51,700 farmers of Odisha received the instalment while 29 lakh were benefited in the previous instalment.
The state’s CM Kisan Yojana complements PM Kisan, paying small farmers Rs 4,000 in two installments. Funds are transferred directly to bank accounts with transparency.
Majhi aims to include all eligible farmers, launching a saturation drive from Nuukhai. Farmers can register and access facilities at Jana Seva Kendras free of cost, he said.
Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo and Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari praised PM Kisan’s benefits for Rabi crops and cultivation, encouraging organic farming.
In this program, Principal Secretary of Agriculture Department Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee delivered the welcome address and the Agriculture Director Premchand Choudhary proposed vote of thanks.
