Bhubaneswar: Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, appointed by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi to oversee Cuttack’s preparations for Cyclone Dana, led a district-level review meeting at the District Collectorate today.
After meeting with administrative officers, Minister Harichandan confirmed that the district is fully equipped to face the storm.
Talking to mediapersons, Harichandan said, “As many as four blocks in the district are expected to be affected by the cyclone. However, the district administration is well-prepared, resolving any outstanding issues by this evening. We are also ready to evacuate pregnant women and have begun evacuations in rural areas. All departments including electricity and water supply apart from NDRF and ODRAF personnel are on alert.”
Minister Harichandan also alleviated concerns about waterlogging, stating that the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) has been instructed to address drainage related issues. Aequate pumps are in place to address water-logging issues.
District Magistrate Dattatreya Bhausaheb Shinde, local MLAs, and various officials were present at the meeting.
