Bhubaneswar: Severe cyclonic storm Dana, made landfall in north Odisha, between 1:30 am and 3:30 on Friday, bringing strong winds and heavy rainfall to the region.
According to IMD reports, the storm crossed the north Odisha coast near Habalikhati Nature Camp (Bhitarkania) and Dhamara, with wind speeds of 100-110 km/h gusting up to 120 km/h.
The storm is currently centered over north coastal Odisha, approximately 10 km north of Dhamara and 20 km north-northwest of Habalikhati Nature Camp (Bhitarkania). The landfall process is ongoing and expected to continue for the next 2-3 hours.
Cyclone Dana is predicted to move west-northwestwards across north Odisha, gradually weakening into a cyclonic storm by forenoon today.
