Heavy To Very Heavy Rain Likely In 4 Odisha Districts Today, IMD Issues Red Alert

Bhubaneswar: The severe cyclonic storm Dana has moved north-northwestwards with a speed of 10 kmph and weakened into a cyclonic storm over north coastal Odisha and lay centered about 30 km northeast of Bhadrak and 50 km north-northwest of Dhamara. The maximum sustained wind speed around the center of the cyclone is about 80-90 kmph gusting to 100 kmph. The landfall process has been completed and it is likely to move northwestwards across north Odisha and weaken gradually into a deep depression during the next six hours.

Weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha:

Day 1 (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 26.10.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at most places north, south coastal Odisha and at many places over the districts of south interior Odisha.

Red warning (Take Action): Isolated heavy to very heavy raonfall (7 to 20cm) with isolated extremely heavy rainfall (>20cm) is very likely to occur at isolated places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar.

Orange warning (Be Prepared to take action): Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) is very likely to occur at isolated places in Jajpur, Kendrapara, Dhenkanal, and Cuttack.

Yellow Warning (Be Aware): Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Angul, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Nayagarh, and Puri.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 26.10.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 27.10.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at many places in north Odisha and at a few places over the districts of south Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be Aware): Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Balasore and Mayurbhanj.

Day 3: (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 27.10.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 28.10.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha.

Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 28.10.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 29.10.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Odisha.

Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 29.10.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 30.10.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Odisha.

Day 6 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 30.10.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 31.10.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Odisha.

Day 7 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 31.10.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 01.11.2024)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Odisha.
