Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has been included in the list of star campaigners of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the first phase of Jharkhand assembly elections.
The BJP today released a 40-member list of star campaigners which includes the names of PM Narendra Modi, Union Ministers JP Nadda, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, UP CM Yogi Adityanath, among other leaders.
Sources said that the party has roped in Majhi for the campaigning in the neighbouring State to sway voters especially a sizable population of Odia-speaking people. Moreover, Majhi belongs to a tribal community and BJP wants to woo the tribal voters who have a significant presence in the State.
Last month, Majhi had also toured to Jharkhand and held separate public meetings.
