Bhubaneswar: To facilitate the transportation of passengers stranded by train cancellations due to Cyclone Dana, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has announced a special train service from Puri in Odisha to Shalimar in West Bengal.
In a notification issued Friday, ECoR stated that the cyclone had disrupted several regular train schedules, leaving many passengers unable to reach their destinations.
The special train, designated 08490 Puri-Shalimar Special, will depart from Puri at 11:20 PM on October 26 toward Shalimar. In the return direction, 08489 Shalimar-Puri Special will leave Shalimar at 10:50 AM on October 27.
The train will make scheduled stops at Malatipatapur, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jajpur, Keonjhar Road, Bhadrak, Balasore, Kharagpur, and Santragachhi on its route between Puri and Shalimar in both directions.
The special service will offer a range of accommodations, including one AC-2 Tier, three AC-3 Tier, ten Sleeper Class, four Second Class Seating, and two guard-cum-Second Class compartments with facilities for passengers with physical disabilities.
