Bhubaneswar: Odisha will establish 10 additional teams of the Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) to improve response and management in the face of natural disasters, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced today.
The Chief Minister also shared plans to establish local response teams in every revenue village across the state to bolster immediate disaster response capabilities at the grassroots level.
Furthermore, 500 new multi-purpose cyclone centers will be constructed across Odisha, adding to the current 844 multipurpose cyclone centers already in place.
In a bid to enhance coastal resilience, the government plans to expand mangrove forests along the coastlines.
Additionally, a state-of-the-art Natural Disaster Management Centre will be constructed in Bhubaneswar to facilitate world-class disaster preparedness and response training.
