Patna Metro Accident: CM Majhi Announces Rs 6 Lakh Ex-Gratia For Deceased Odia Workers’ Families

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday extended financial assistance to the kin of two Odia labourers who were killed in an accident at the Patna Metro tunnel construction site on late Monday night.

Majhi announced financial assistance of Rs 6 lakh each to the families of the deceased workers. At the same time, the Chief Minister expressed deep grief and condoled with the bereaved family.

It is worth mentioning here that Manoj Behera of Gochabadi village under Rasang panchayat and Vijay Behera of Kadua village died in the accident.

The accident claimed two lives and left six others injured late Monday night. The incident occurred in the Peerbahore area when a crane’s brakes failed leading to the fatal mishap inside the metro tunnel between Patna University and the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH).
