Bhubaneswar: A Special Vigilance Court in Baripada on Wednesday convicted Bibhisan Behera, retired former In-Charge Senior Clerk of Thakurmunda Community Health Centre (CHC), Mayurbhanj in a bribery case and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment (RI) for four years.
The Court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on Behera. He was sent to jail custody to serve his sentence following the sentencing, said an official press release.
Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of Behera.
The Vigilance had charge sheeted Behera for demanding and taking bribe from a staff of Thakurmunda C.H.C for sending her E.L application along with service book to the C.D.M.O, Mayurbhanj for sanction of her E.L period of one year.
