Bhubaneswar: A 25-year-old buffalo grazer drowned while cleaning his animals in the Gangua canal near Chakeisiani in Bhubaneswar, on Saturday evening.
Dibuna Behera, a resident of Patharbandha, was washing his buffaloes in waist-deep water when he went missing. After his father alerted locals and police, an ODRAF team launched a rescue operation.
The rescue team recovered Behera’s body from near a bridge around 10 PM after a three-hour operation. An injury mark was found on his head. Locals suspect the injury may have been caused by a buffalo horn, leading to his death.
Police have sent the body to Capital Hospital for post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.
