Bhubaneswar: Residents of Bhubaneswar experienced mild earthquake tremors on Sunday morning even though no official confirmation is made.
The tremors, felt for several seconds, sent locals into a state of alarm. However, no damage to life or property has been reported.
Residents from various localities in Bhubaneswar reported feeling the tremors. “I was sleeping when I heard a noise and then experienced mild tremors,” said one local resident. Another resident described his experience while he was on my morning walk between 7:10 and 7:15 am.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) is yet to confirm the incident officially. Details on the earthquake’s intensity and epicentre are awaited from the National Centre for Seismology.
While the tremors caused concern, locals are relieved that no significant damage occurred.
