Bhubaneswar: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) began cleaning work on the large boundary wall known as Meghanada Pacheri, surrounding the Puri Srimandir, on Monday after reports of cracks appearing on the surface of the wall.
According to reports, the Meghanada Pacheri wall has developed numerous cracks and algae patches have been formed. The SJTA has taken action to remove the algae to protect the shrine’s boundary wall.
However, wastewater from Ananda Bazaar continues to seep through the cracks, gradually weakening the structure.
Recently, Arabinda Padhee, the SJTA Chief Administrator, expressed his concerns over the current condition of the Meghanada Pacheri and assured that necessary repairs and restoration work would be undertaken soon.
