Bhubaneswar: Acting on a tip-off regarding disproportionate assets amassed by Sekharlal Kumar Sahu, Senior Assistant, Office of ADPHO (FW), Keonjhar, a team of Odisha Vigilance officials kept a close watch over the movement and activities of Sahu.
On Monday night, the team of Odisha Vigilance intercepted him in front of Ajanta Hotel in Keonjhar while he was coming from the office of ADPHO (FW) on a scooter. During a search, Vigilance officials recovered cash worth Rs 2.80 lakh from Sahu, for which he could not provide a satisfactory account. The entire cash of Rs 2.80 lakh as well as scooter have been seized.
According to a press release issued by Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday, soon after the interception, simultaneous searches were conducted at the rented residential house of Sahu at Attapur in Old Town in Keonjhar and his office chamber.
A case has been registered against Sahu at the Balasore Vigilance police station in this connection under Section 13 (2) r/w 13(1)(b) of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018.
He has been arrested and is being forwarded to the court. Further investigation is in progress.
