Sundergarh: An Anganwadi worker was axed to death by a young man over a one-sided love affair at Julambahal village under Hemagiri police station in Sundergarh district. Following the murder, the young man fled the scene, and the police initiated an investigation.
According to reports, Sarat Kaudi, a resident of the same village, had been harbouring a one-sided love for Dibyabharati, the Anganwadi worker. Despite her repeated rejections, he continued to propose to her.
On the day of the incident, Dibyabharati was returning home from the Anganwadi center with a child when Sarat attacked her at a deserted location. Dibyabharati fell unconscious and died after being struck twice with an axe.
Upon receiving the information, the victim’s family rushed to the scene and informed the police. Police have registered a murder case and are continuing their investigation.
