Bhubaneswar: The body of a 25-year-old woman who had gone missing since last night, was found floating in a pond behind her husband’s house in Harapada village under Brahmagiri police station limits in Puri district, on Thursday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Ritanjali Guntha.
Her body was discovered with a stone tied around her neck, sparking allegations of murder.
Meanwhile, Ritanjali’s family has filed a complaint against her husband, Manas Ranjan Guntha and his family members, accusing them of murdering her. The family claimed that Ritanjali was subjected to domestic violence and harassment.
According to reports, Ritanjali went missing Wednesday evening after a quarrel with her husband. Her body was found floating in the pond on Thursday morning. Ritanjali’s family suspect that they murdered her and dumped her body in the pond.
Police have launched an investigation into the case but are yet to make any arrests.
