Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths arrested the Medical Officer In-Charge of Boipariguda Community Health Centre (CHC) and the Pharmacist of a Mobile Health Unit (MHU) of National Health Mission (NHM) for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000.
According to a release issued by the Vigilance Department, CHC In-charge Biswajit Bhuyan and pharmacist Uttam Mahankuda were caught red-handed when they were taking Rs 40,000 bribe from a CHC staffer to release her arrear salary. The entire amount has been recovered and seized from both accused persons.
This isn’t the first time Dr Bhuyan has faced allegations of corruption. Previously, he was accused of demanding bribes and misusing CHC vehicles.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches at three locations of Dr Bhuyan and 1 location of Mahankuda, Pharmacist are going on from a DA angle.
