Bhubaneswar: A 22-year-old youth sustained severe injuries when masked assailants pushed him off his bike and brutally assaulted him with a sword and surgical blades.
The injured identified as Deepak Pradhan, a resident of Badagada village is currently undergoing treatment at Capital Hospital.
As per reports, the incident occurred around 11 pm yesterday. Deepak was on his way home when miscreants wearing masks intercepted him. They pushed him off his bike and brutally assaulted him with sharp weapons using a sword and surgical blades. The attackers targeted Deepak’s back, hands, and face.
Badagada police registered a case and began an investigation.
CCTV footage is being scrutinized to identify the perpetrators. Preliminary inquiries suggest the attack may be linked to past rivalries. Police are conducting raids to apprehend the suspects, said sources.
