Bhubaneswar: A class X student was found dead in the hostel of Kalinga Adarsh Residential School under Khajuripada police limits in Kandhamal district, on Wednesday.
The deceased identified as Anandeshwar Mallik was a resident of Balisugri village.
According to reports, Anandeshwar’s body was found hanging from a towel in the hostel’s toilet. Fellow students noticed the body and informed the hostel authorities, who subsequently alerted the police.
Meanwhile, Anandeshwar’s brother alleged that the school teachers had previously criticised him and scolded his sibling. They asked him to study in another school. The family held the hostel authorities responsible for the death demanding a high-level investigation into the incident.
