Bhubaneswar: A delegation of healthcare experts comprising representatives from the Mayo Clinic and other healthcare research institutions met Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan and discussed cutting-edge cancer diagnosis and treatment methods.
The meeting highlighted the costly and uncertain nature of cancer treatment, emphasizing the need for rapid DNA testing to determine treatment effectiveness.
According to the discussions, implementing this innovative approach in Odisha would enable early diagnosis and effective treatment. The Chief Minister assured that healthcare, particularly cancer treatment, is a top priority for the state government. He encouraged the representatives to submit a formal proposal outlining their plan.
The meeting was attended by prominent officials, including Additional Chief Secretary Nikunj Bihari Dhal and Commissioner-cum-secretary of Health and Family Welfare Department Aswathi S. Renowned experts such as Professor Dev Mukherjee from Mayo Clinic, Charles Miller from Elephes Bio-Sciences, Dr. Biren Banerjee, Founder and Managing Director of inDNA Life Sciences, and Devi Prasad Rath also participated in the meeting.
