Bhubaneswar: A photo of a boy being worshipped with Tulsi leaves at his feet, claimed to be Lord Vishnu’s incarnation, has sparked public outrage. This disturbing trend has drawn fierce criticism from various quarters, with a religious outfit condemning it as a form of commercialisation.
Meanwhile, a social organization Odisha Samajsebi Mahasangha since filed a complaint with the Khandagiri police, seeking action against Kasinath Mishra.
According to the outfit members, Mishra claims his minor son is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He, however, has disrespected the Hindu religion by placing tulsi leaves and Bhagavad Gita at his son’s feet.
Going by the complaint, Mishra runs an ashram At Baikunta Dham in Khandagiri where he worships his son by placing tulsi leaves and the Bhagavad Gita at his son’s feet. Mishra has reportedly replaced Baba Sarathi, who previously engaged in similar activities.
The complainants accused Mishra of disregarding Hindu religion by doing this and violating the Right to Education Act by not allowing him to attend school.
