Bhubaneswar: A seven-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted in the capital city. The matter came to light after a complaint was filed with Lingaraj police in this regard.
As per reports, the minor girl had gone missing on Saturday morning. Despite searching for several hours, her parents failed to trace her. She was finally traced by a woman near an under-construction building close to a temple in the Basistha Nagar vicinity under the said police jurisdiction. The victim’s family rushed to Lingaraj police station after finding multiple injury marks on her body.
Lingaraj Police rushed the victim to the BMC Hospital for medical examination and subsequently registered a complaint in this connection.
The victim’s father, a mason, alleged that his daughter was sexually assaulted after being abducted. Based on the complaint, Lingaraj police have initiated an investigation into the incident and reportedly started examining the CCTV footage in the area.
