Koraput: Boriguma police arrested two persons on charges of looting a purse from a lady doctor on November 16.
As per reports, a woman doctor identified as Shibani Sahu was robbed while returning from duty when the incident took place. She was travelling from Keonjhar’s Kebidi village to Jeypore when three miscreants waylaid her near Dangar Khomar jungle and looted her purse which contained items including Rs 1,500 cash, a mobile phone, two ATM cards, an Aadhaar card, a voter ID card, a PAN card and a driving license.
Sahu filed a complaint at the Borigumma police station following which police tracked the stolen mobile number through a cyber cell and successfully arrested two culprits. They were produced in court.
Sub-Inspector Rachita Madkami said, “We have recovered the stolen items from the possession of the accused. The accused will be produced in court. Efforts are on to nab the third culprit involved in the crime.”
