Bhubaneswar: The night temperature (minimum temperature) is plummeting gradually across Odisha as 16 places in the state recorded below 15°C on Monday night. G Udaygiri recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 7.2°C and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that the temperatures will drop further in the next 3-4 days.
At some places temperature will drop by 2°C to 4°C in the next 24 hours, the weather office said. The night temperature at Phulbani was 10.5°C and 11.5°C in Daringbadi. The other places, where mercury dropped below 15°C, are Semiliguda in Koraput (9.1°C), Angul (11.6°C), Rourkela (12.2°C), Jharsuguda (12.4°C), Chiplima in Sambalpur (13.4°C), Sundargarh (14°C), Keonjhar (14°C), Bhadrak (14°C), Nabarangpur (14.5°C), Dhenkanal (14.9°C) and Balangir (14.9°C).
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 16.08°C and 16°C.
Shallow to moderate fog occurred in Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh and Kalahandi on Tuesday morning reducing visibility.
