Bhubaneswar: An upper air cyclonic circulation is expected to form over the South Andaman Sea and adjoining areas around November 21, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
This cyclonic circulation is projected to move west-northwestwards and develop into a low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal by November 23. Subsequently, it is likely to intensify into a depression over the southwest Bay of Bengal within the following two days, the IMD stated.
Currently, scattered low and medium clouds, with embedded intense to very intense convection, are observed over the southwest Bay of Bengal. Similar cloud patterns, with moderate to intense convection, are present over the east-central Bay of Bengal and South Andaman Sea, while weak to moderate convection is noted over the southeast Bay of Bengal.
The IMD will continue to monitor the system and provide updates as it evolves.
