Minister Mohapatra Directs ‘Niramaya’ Centres To Provide Round-The-Clock Service

Bhubaneswar: In a significant move to enhance healthcare services in Odisha, Public Enterprises Minister Dr. Krushna Chandra Mohapatra has directed the government officials to keep ‘Niramaya’ centres in government hospitals open for 24 hours. This decision aims to provide timely medical assistance to patients in need.

During a review meeting of the Odisha State Medical Corporation at Kharavela Bhawan, Minister Mohapatra emphasized the importance of expediting medicine procurement and distribution to cater to the needs of common patients. He also stressed the need to strengthen the corporation by deploying the required number of employees.

Furthermore, the Minister instructed the authorities to make the Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital in Baripada self-sufficient. He directed the corporation to provide necessary medical equipment, beds, and facilities to the college.

Managing Director of the Corporation Dr. Puma Tudu informed that the corporation is working efficiently to implement state government-sponsored schemes like Khushi, Sampoorna, and distribution of medicated mosquito nets. The corporation has also been providing medicines to patients in government hospitals during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Secretary of the Public Enterprises Department T. Ao, Special Secretary Nihar Ranjan Dash, DMET Professor Santosh Mishra and senior officers of the Corporation and Public Enterprises Department were present in the review meeting
