Angul: A pickup van carrying poultry overturned near Chillida on National Highway No. 49 early this morning, leaving residents in the Turumunga police station area in stitches.
In a surprising twist, locals rushed to the accident site, but instead of helping the driver or helper, they began stealing dead and live chickens from the scene.
Locals were seen scrambling to collect as many chickens as possible from the overturned van. Many loaded their arms with chickens, while others brought bags to carry as many as they could. After gathering a sufficient number of chickens, some individuals walked away, while others returned on motorbikes to collect more.
The pickup van, carrying chickens from Angul to Rairangpur, met with the accident, resulting in the death of many chickens. Turumunga police have seized the vehicle and launched an investigation. The driver sustained minor injuries in the accident.
