Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are set to attend the three-day All-India Conference of Directors General (DGs) and Inspectors General (IGs) of Police in Bhubaneswar, beginning November 29.
This was announced by Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania on Monday.
Holding a presser, Khurania highlighted that this Odisha will be hosting the high-level conference for the first time that will bring together top police officials from across the country.
“This is the first time the DG-IG Conference will be held in Bhubaneswar. It will be a three-day event from November 29. Odisha will host this important conference, which will be attended by all the DGPs of states and union territories, as well as the DGs of central forces,” said Khurania.
The DGP also confirmed the participation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and other prominent dignitaries.
“The conference will focus on national security issues, and discussions will include the challenges faced by police departments. New guidelines will also be discussed over the course of the three days,” he added.
