Bargarh: Bargarh Town Police arrested five accused individuals while they were hatching a robbery plan near the cremation ground near Zeera River in the district.

The accused are Rajdeep Choudhury, Bedabyash Pradhan, Rajesh Choudhury,  Pramod Tandia and Sudhansu Mugri.

The police have seized a large cache of items from the accused who were planning a robbery. The seized articles include five country-made 7.62 mm pistols, 34 live bullets of 7.62 mm, seven android mobile phones, ten magazines, three two-wheelers, Rs. 2,000 in cash, three knives, two iron rods, five face masks, four packets of chilli powder, a torch light, and a bamboo lathi.

The accused were reportedly planning a large-scale robbery in the area when the police team led by Town Police Station Officer-in-Charge Satyajit Kandelkar on instruction of Bargarh Superintendent of Police Prahlad Sahai Meena, conducted a surprise raid and apprehended the accused.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the accused were involved in a gang of robbers, with connections to a larger network.

The police are investigating the matter further to uncover more details about the gang’s operations. The arrested individuals are currently being interrogated, and the police are expected to reveal more information about the case once the investigation is complete.
