Bhubaneswar: Police arrested a person for murdering his younger brother in Khirikhia village under Gurujhatia police jurisdiction in Cuttack district, on Wednesday.
As per reports, Behara Badra, the elder brother, allegedly killed his younger brother, Saroj Badra, in a fit of rage following a long-standing family feud.
According to reports, the two brothers had been at odds for quite some time. The altercation turned violent when Behara, enraged over a trivial argument, brutally attacked Saroj with a spade. The victim succumbed to his injuries, leaving the village in shock.
Upon being informed, Choudwar SDPO Umakantha Nayak, Gurudijhatia police station officer-in-charge Paresh Kumar Mohanty and SI Purnamasi Sethi rushed to the scene.
The accused, Behara Badra, was arrested and the body was sent to Athagarh Sub-Divisional Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem.
The police have charged Behara with murder and produced him in court, which remanded him to judicial custody.
