Puri: Pilgrim town Puri’s Blue Flag Beach is transforming into a spectacle of military might as Odisha prepares to host Navy Day on December 4 for the first time.
The event, set to showcase India’s maritime strength and seafaring heritage, will feature an operational demonstration (Op Demo) by the Indian Navy in the presence of President Droupadi Murmu, the chief guest.
In preparation, eight Indian Army battle tanks have already arrived at the venue. The grand display will include 24 warships, 40 aircraft, and helicopters demonstrating the Indian Navy’s operational capabilities.
The event aims to highlight the Navy’s multifaceted competencies, boost maritime awareness among the public, and honor India’s rich maritime traditions.
The Indian Navy is coordinating with the Odisha state government and local authorities to ensure the seamless execution of the event. While VVIPs will have reserved viewing, the public will also be allowed to witness the Navy’s prowess. For those unable to attend, the event will be broadcast live on national television and streamed on the Indian Navy’s official YouTube channel.
The historic celebration is expected to draw significant attention as Puri hosts this monumental occasion, blending tradition with modern military excellence on its iconic coast.
