Balasore: Three opera artistes, including a child, narrowly escaped an accident when the car they were travelling in lost control and crashed into a house near Chaparpada, under Soro police station in Balasore.
According to reports, Rakesh Patnaik (Bulu) and Biswajit Das of the Prithviraj Opera Party were heading to Betada from Soro when the vehicle crashed into Basanti Tarei’s house.
Basanti and her daughter-in-law, Mata Tarei, were watching TV inside, while her one-and-a-half-year-old son was asleep. Mata Tarei was injured while rescuing her son, and two yatra artistes in the car were also injured.
Locals rescued everyone and took them to Soro Hospital. Rakesh was later shifted to the Balasore district headquarters hospital for critical care after primary treatment. The Soro police reached the spot, removed the vehicle, and initiated an investigation into the incident
