Bhubaneswar: The Forest Department arrested two poachers in G Udaygiri area of Kandhamal, while they attempted to sell a leopard skin.
The forest officials also seized a country-made gun and several other weapons. This achievement marks a significant success for the G Udaygiri forest range in Kandhamal district.
Bhavani Shankar Pradhan and Pramod Pradhan, residents of Pukulingia village, planned to sell the leopard skin. Acting on reliable information, a special Forest Department team raided the area, arresting Bhavani Shankar Pradhan first.
Following his statement, the team arrested Pramod. Along with the leopard skin, the officials seized a country-made gun, knife, and other equipment.
Both poachers have been sent to court. DFO Prashant Patel assured that others involved in the case will be arrested soon.
