Cuttack: Raghupati Mohanty, the BJD leader and Baramba block chairman in Cuttack district, has resigned from the party. He submitted his resignation letter to BJD president Naveen Patnaik via email, stating that he is resigning from the primary membership of the BJD.
Mohanty is considered a close confidante of senior BJD leader and former Minister Debi Mishra of Barama. According to reports, Mohanty is likely to join the BJP soon.
This development comes after several other BJD leaders, including Bari Block Chairman Ashok Kumar Gedi, Derabish block Chairman Saroj Kant Sahoo, Khalikote’s Daithari Behera, Kabisuryanagar’s Jyotirmaya Swain, and Gondia’s chairperson Rina Rani Khatua, had earlier quit the party.
