Bhubaneswar: The Centre has sanctioned Rs 73,723 crore for the development of railways in Odisha. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the approval while sharing detailed information on social media.
The proposed Rayagada railway division in Odisha has been approved, with a tender of Rs 107 crore called for the construction of the railway divisional office. There will be three railway divisions under the East Coast Railway. Additionally, 59 stations in Odisha are being redeveloped under the Amrut Station Scheme.
During Modi’s third term, the cabinet approved eight new railway projects worth Rs 19,289 crore. These projects include:

2. Junagarh Road-Nabarangpur New Railway Line
3. Malkangiri-Pandurangapuram via Bhadrachalam New Railway Line
4. Badampahad-Kendujhargarh New Railway Line
5. Bangiriposhi-Gorumahisani New Railway Line
6. Budamara-Chakulia New Railway Line
7. Sardega-Bhalumuda New Doubling Railway Line
8. Bargarh Road-Nuapada Road New Railway Line
The railway minister also discussed with the MPs of Odisha including Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
