Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will attend the swearing-in ceremony of Maharashtra’s new Mahayuti government on Thursday.
According to reporters, the Chief Minister as well as Deputy CM Pravati Parida are slated to proceed to Mumbai to attend the swearing-in ceremony to be held in Mumbai.
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Devendra Fadnavis is slated to be sworn-in as the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra while his allies Eknath Shinde of Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar of NCP will take oath as his deputies.
The BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) and the Nationalist Congress Party, or NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) — together called the Mahayuti — won a resounding mandate in the Assembly election on November 23, but power-sharing talks in the alliance led to a delay in the naming of the Chief Minister pick.
