Bhubaneswar: The 73rd All India Hockey Championship – 2025 is set to take place at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar in March, under the aegis of Odisha Police.
A preparatory meeting for the event was held at the DGP Camp Office, chaired by Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania.
DGP Khurania directed senior police officers to ensure the championship is conducted smoothly and efficiently, with extensive arrangements in place. As many as 27 men’s teams and 10 women’s teams from across the country are expected to participate.
The DGP emphasized the need for meticulous planning for players’ accommodations, regular practice sessions, the welcoming of guests, and the smooth execution of the opening and closing ceremonies. Practice sessions will be conducted at Kalinga Stadium, Pokhariput, and KIIT campus grounds, with special arrangements being made at these venues.
Additionally, the championship is likely to attract several international hockey players, VVIPs, and prominent personalities. In view of this, the DGP instructed the officers to implement comprehensive security measures and ensure all necessary facilities for players are provided.
