Bhubaneswar: A vehicle belonging to the Khaira Excise Department overturned on Soro-Kupari road near Pitakaliya Chhak in Odisha, injuring several people.
The mishap occurred when the vehicle was returning from Soro Court after dropping off an accused. The driver and Assistant Sub-Inspector Duryodhan Behera, were seriously injured, while constable Debashish Mallick suffered minor injuries.
Locals at the scene rushed the injured to Khaira Community Health Centre for treatment. As the condition of the driver and ASI deteriorated, they were shifted to Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital.
Excise Department officials, including Suraj Kumar Tiga, have reached the spot to take stock of the situation.
