Bhubaneswar: Odisha Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari on Tuesday warned millers who fail to enter into an agreement with the District Supply Department to procure paddy.
The minister issued this warning during a review meeting of the Revenue Department and the paddy procurement process at the Mission Shakti Conference Hall in Nabarangpur.
“Strict action will be taken against millers who do not cooperate with the government,” Minister Pujari said after the meeting. “Those who try to hinder the paddy procurement process will face severe consequences. This government is committed to the welfare of the poor and farmers.”
The minister’s warning comes amid reports of problems at several procurement centres in the state due to the non-agreement of millers with the district administration.
Earlier in the day, Minister Pujari visited the shrine of Devi Bhandar Gharani and offered prayers. He was also given a warm welcome by the district BJP unit.
