Bhubaneswar: Arun Kumar Sahu, a senior Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer from Deogarh in Odisha, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to Bulgaria, the Ministry of External Affairs announced on Wednesday.
Sahu, a 1996-batch IFS officer, is expected to assume his new role soon, the Ministry stated.
He has been serving as Additional Secretary (Central Europe) in the Ministry of External Affairs since September 2022. Prior to this, he held the position of High Commissioner of India to Trinidad & Tobago.
An alumnus of the renowned Ravenshaw College, Sahu holds master’s degrees in War in the Modern World from King’s College London and Linguistics from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. He completed his schooling at Ravenshaw Collegiate School in Cuttack and Chandra Sekhar Behera Zilla School in Sambalpur.
