Bhubaneswar: A 37-year-old youth was stabbed to death by unidentified miscreants on Bhualapatra Road under Kolabira police station in Jharsuguda district, on Thursday night.
The deceased, Santosh Nayak of Kelenda panchayat, was a security guard at a local factory.
According to sources, Nayak was on his way to work last night when miscreants attacked him with sharp weapons, killing him on the spot.
Locals found Nayak’s body in a pool of blood and rushed him to the Jharsuguda District Headquarters Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Upon being informed, Jharsuguda Sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Umashankar Singh, along with a scientific team, visited the crime scene and launched an investigation into the murder. However, no arrests have been made so far.
Police have launched a manhunt to identify the culprits and ascertain the motive behind the murder.
