IMD Predicts Wet Weekend For Odisha, Issues Yellow Warning For Heavy Rainfall To Four Districts

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is bracing for a wet weekend, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a yellow warning for heavy rainfall in four districts on December 21. Additionally, the IMD has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershower at many places in Coastal Odisha and a few places in Interior Odisha on Sunday.

Going by IMD’s prediction, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Kendrapada, and Jagatsinghpur on December 21. These districts have been issued yellow warnings. Besides, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are also expected to occur at many places in the districts of Coastal Odisha and at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha.

Additionally, shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Kandhamal, Kalahandi, and Sundargarh on Saturday.

For Sunday, IMD predicted light rain or thundershower at one or two places in the districts of Coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Dhenkanal. The IMD has warned that dry weather is likely to prevail over the rest of the districts in Odisha.

The forecast is valid from 0830 hrs IST of 21.12.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 22.12.2024.
