Bhubaneswar: The Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has decided to suspend the repair and maintenance work of the Ratna Bhandar (treasury chamber) of Puri Jagannath temple from December 25 to January 2.
The decision was taken to avoid overcrowding and chaos during the Christmas and New Year celebrations. The temple administration aims to ensure a smooth and safe experience for devotees.
It is pertinent to mention that the repair work began on December 17. The temple administration had made elaborate arrangements for the maintenance work, which is expected to resume on January 3.
Notably, SJTA has decided to implement the trial run of the queue system (dhadi darshan) to ensure smooth darshan of the devotees during the New Year.
AS per the temple administration decision, separate arrangements will be taken for women, children, the elderly, and differently-abled individuals to ensure a comfortable darshan experience.
