Bhubaneswar: Former Odisha Governor Raghubar Das on Wednesday visited the Puri Jagannath Temple after resigning from his post.
Das, who stepped down as Governor, arrived in Puri and sought the blessings of Lord Jagannath and his siblings. He spent some time at the Governor’s house in Puri before heading to the temple, where he was provided with tight security, said sources.
After offering prayers at the temple, Das expressed his happiness and contentment. He stated that he had taken up the role of Governor as per the will of Lord Jagannath. Das also mentioned that the development of Odisha would be achieved by 2036, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Regarding his future course of action, Das said “I would abide by the decision of the high command and accept any responsibility given to me.”
Das also touched upon the issue of Odia Asmita stating that the previous government had failed to understand its significance, leading to its rejection by the people after 24 years.
