Balangir: Government Railway Police recovered the mutilated body of a 25-year-old woman on railway tracks near Sirol village under Titlagarh police limits in Balangir district, on Saturday morning.

The deceased, identified as Kamala Rana, was a resident of Tentulikhuti village. She was married to Kumarmani Rana eight years ago and had two children with him.

According to sources, Kamala had a heated argument with her husband on Friday night, after which she left the house. Despite searching for her throughout the night, her family could not find her.

On Saturday morning, locals spotted Kamala’s body on the railway tracks near Sirol village and informed the Government Railway Police. Upon being informed, the deceased’s family members have reached the spot.

The police, meanwhile, sent the body for post-mortem and launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to Kamala’s death.
